A two-volume edition of “The Routledge Companion to Applied Performance” was recently published. It is a book about applied theatre. The first part, “Volume one – Mainland Europe, North and Latin America, Southern Africa, and Australia and New Zealand” contains the text “Theatre against violence, action in classrooms”, written by Ines Škuflić, Maja Sviben and Nina Horvat.
Ines, Maja, and Nina wrote about our interactive and educational performances, which they also authored: “The right to a mistake”, “2042”, “Plug in the computer, plug in the brain”, “Lie” and “Touching rock bottom”.
The play “The right to a mistake” by Iva Gruić, Ines Škuflić-Horvat and Damir Miholić was the first interactive theater play with full audience participation in Croatia in 1998, dealing with the integration of juvenile offender. The interactive performances “2042.” and “Plug in the computer, plug in the brain” by author Maja Sviben dealt with physical and cyber violence, and the performances “Lie” and “Touching rock bottom”, signed by Nina Horvat, with the prevention of drug and alcohol addiction.
