How do you come up with an idea for a play? How can the idea be developed into performance material using theater techniques, exercises, and improvisations? What are the key points of this process? Shaping the story together around a given subject matter. An imaginary situation, an inner monologue, an inner conflict. Creating a dramatic situation. Elaboration of character biographies, basic character determinants (motivation for action, observations, attitude). Creating summaries and scene sequences.
With drama games and exercises in the workshop, we will go through an abbreviated process of working on the play – from games and exercise to performance in front of an audience.
