Jelena Kovačić

Jelena Kovačić was born in Koprivnica in 1991. She graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb in 2017 with a degree in Croatian Language and Literature and Art History. in 2020, she completed postgraduate specialist studies in theater pedagogy at the Faculty of Education and obtained the title of drama pedagogy specialist. 

In September 2019, she completed her professional training at the Tirena Theatre, where she continues to work as a drama pedagogue and project collaborator. Currently, she works at Elementary School Ivan Gundulić in Zagreb as a professor of introductory teaching of Croatian for foreign speakers. 

During her full-time studies, she explored the way theater education and visual arts merge, which resulted in conducting workshops for educational personnel (Visual arts and theater education, From visual art to dramatic play) and presenting the photographic-dramatic program Drama with Dabac, which was created in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art during the exhibition of photographs by Toša Dabac (2021) and drama mediation program MSU story (2023), which challenged the museum space, its collection and environment.

Together with the leadership of the FUNK – Forum of Independent Cultural Associations from Koprivnica, she is launching a cycle of dramatic educational content entitled Dramim(o)!, within the framework of which she will lead theater workshops for adults and the creative theater, art and music program Summer stage.
